Dallas Kitchen Design-Removing Wall Opens Up A Dark Kitchen
To expand this dark kitchen that was very dated, designer Chris Chumbley removed the wall between the kitchen and living areas in this Dallas home. This change required the contractor, USI Design and Remodeling to install beams to carry the load of the second story. 
“It took a lot of work by the team to determine the appropriate header and ceiling heights to bring the new open spaces together properly while managing the structural loads,” Chumbley says.
Traditional elements in the kitchen such as Classic white cabinetry pay homage to the homes original millwork. A massive island offers ample seating for larger gatherings and updates this older Dallas homes interior design.
Widening openings provide better connection for casual living areas, try incorporating big ideas to get uncommon results.
